We are so excited to be joined by the beautiful Lexi Loo. She’s an aspiring singer/songwriter who is making movements in the creative industry. She is a bundle of energy with an infectious smile; having walked for Mini Mode at the September 18 show as the first plus size model during London Fashion Week. She is on a mission and we are so excited to watch her grow. So, without any further blabbing from us, let’s discover more about this teenage beauty!
Lexi Loo thank you so much for joining us on Gossip Station for a catch up! Can you please start off by telling us a bit about yourself......
Hello everyone and thank you for having me! I’m Lex, I’m 14 years old and I live in Hertfordshire. I am a singer/songwriter who has also been lucky enough to do some modelling.
This year I was the first plus size model to walk for Mini Mode, Kids London Fashion Week. It was such an amazing experience and I hope that I can change perceptions in the fashion world. I hope that by seeing me can show other girls that it doesn’t matter what you look like. What matters is that you are happy.
I have been bullied and it didn’t make me feel very nice. I’m willing to put myself out there to help others realise beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and we are all beautiful in our own way.
I am busy working on my EP with some amazing producers and look forward to releasing some original music soon. I love to write songs as it’s a great way to express feelings and get how I feel about things ‘out there’. Music is my life, it’s as simple as that.
Wow, wow, wow! What gorgeous inspiring words! So, with Christmas upon us, we’ve heard it’s a favourite of yours! What makes the season so special to you and do you have a festive routine on the big day?
I am so excited for Christmas! It’s my absolute favourite time of the year. Everything about Christmas is special.
I love seeing all my friends and family, picking presents that people will love and seeing their faces when they open them. I can’t lie…I also love getting presents!
In my family, on the run up to Christmas we put up the trees and all the decorations inside and outside the house. It’s a fun tradition and that’s what kicks off the festive period.
We have Christmas music playing all the time and when we break up from school we watch Christmas films most nights.
On Christmas Eve, we have boxes packed with Christmas cozy pj’s, hot chocolate, cookies, bath bombs and other stuff to really get us in the Christmas mood. We all snuggle up and watch TV until bed time.
On Christmas morning, I always set my alarm for 8:30am as I’d sleep all day if I didn’t!!!! We open presents first thing then see either my Mum or Dads family for dinner. Some years we go out for lunch but this year my Mums family are coming to our house so I’m really excited. My job is making desserts which I love to do but Mum hates clearing up the mess I make!
Your Christmas routine sounds insane! AND we love that you are on desserts…the best part BUT poor Mama! As a music artist, is there one Christmas song that stands out to be the best for you?
My absolute favourite Christmas song is Maria Carey ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You!’ It’s because I want Harry Styles to sing it to me one day (ha ha ha ha).
In all seriousness, it’s an amazing song and who doesn’t love Maria’s voice? It always gets me in the Christmas spirit. I also love Chris Rea ‘Driving Home For Christmas!’ It’s my Nanas favourite song and we love to sing it together.
We will second that for Harry Styles! Harry if you’re listening…! As a teen, what’s the best thing to do to get in the Christmas mood?
I start going into a Christmas frenzy when I break up from school! From then, you can find me mostly at home playing Christmas songs, singing Christmas songs, writing Christmas songs. I hope to release a Christmas song one year! Imagine your song being played every Christmas around the world? How amazing would that be?
All of the festive songs definitely get me in a Christmas mood! I think music has such power to make you feel things and bring back lovely memories.
Isn’t that the truth? Like you said, music works in such powerful ways! Ok, so before we go, can you please tell us what your Christmas wish is?
I wish everyone reading this has enjoyed it and I hope every single one of them has the most amazing Christmas. I hope everyone I got presents for loves them as I’ve spent all my allowance and now I’m poor (ha ha ha). I also I hope my parents got me some trainers I’ve wanted for ages!!!!!
Wishing you all the best time, all my love Lex xox
